Jitsuyo Grade Shell
and Slate Stones:
The quickest way to happy fingers
Go is a beautiful game for the eye- shouldn't it be beautiful to the touch
as well? Shell and slate stones are, in their own way, what playing
Go is all about. There is something to appreciate about each thickness.
The white stones are made in Japan of the inner
shells of special Mexican clams, polished to a high sheen. The black
are made of slate, mined in Japan, and coated with a light mineral oil
which can be wiped off with a cloth before the first use- if you can
wait that long.
Each complete set comes with 180 white
and 180 black stones- one for every point save one on the 19 x 19 board.
Each stone is approximately 2 centimeters in diameter, perfectly sized
to fit the standard Go grid.
